Set up StarDrop authentication

Prepare your name, email address and Cytocast licence for use in StarDrop.

Authentication snippet

Check your name and email, then replace YOUR CYTOCAST LICENCE with the licence supplied by Cytocast after approval.

Python
import json

NAME = "YOUR NAME"
EMAIL = "YOUR EMAIL"
CYTOCAST_LICENCE = "YOUR CYTOCAST LICENCE"

def collect_auth_details(appui):
    data = {
        "name": NAME,
        "email": EMAIL,
        "cytocast_licence": CYTOCAST_LICENCE,
    }
    appui.updateSettingsValue("modelserver/auth", json.dumps(data))

Using the snippet

If you already have a StarDrop authentication script (XXX.py) on your system, add the "cytocast_licence": "YOUR CYTOCAST LICENCE" key-value pair to its existing data dictionary. Replace the placeholder with your issued licence and keep the other entries.

  1. Use the name and email address associated with your licence request. If you opened this page without a personalised link, replace YOUR NAME and YOUR EMAIL yourself.
  2. Replace the licence placeholder with the licence sent to you after approval. A submitted request alone does not grant access.
  3. Copy the code into your StarDrop authentication script, following the setup instructions provided with your licence.

The function collects the three values and saves them as JSON in StarDrop’s modelserver/auth setting when called with StarDrop’s appui object. Copying the code does not run it or change your StarDrop settings.

For the model-server connection steps, see StarDrop setup.
