Job description:

Cytocast is a Hungarian biotech startup behind the Cytocast Digital Twin Patient, an advanced software solution that predicts drug side effects by simulating billions of molecular interactions within human cells. Relying on a wide range of available information on how complex cellular processes work, our solution is revolutionizing drug discovery by accelerating the overall process, reducing costs, and increasing clinical trial success rates. Our ultimate goal is to build a Digital Twin that can incorporate an individual patient’s data and suggest personalized treatments.

Essential Duties Include but Are Not Limited To

  • Be part of the ongoing research and development
  • Write machine learning modules that integrate into our systems
  • Prepare internal reports on KPIs, and explore methods and tools to further improve them
  • Apply data engineering skills to locate, extract, and prepare data for machine learning tasks when needed.

This position will focus on building and extending existing solutions to predict drug side effects from changes in how proteins interact due to perturbations. A background in biology or medicine is not required, and this role does not involve using image-processing models.

What we expect

  • Medior-level machine learning skills (at least two years of experience in an ML-related position)
  • Deep understanding of statistics, model evaluation and common biases
  • Familiarity with Pytorch or Tensorflow, Scikit-learn, Pandas
  • Experience with neural networks
  • At least medium English working proficiency
  • Data visualizations skills
  • Experience with critical evaluation of SOTA publications, and implementation of described methods

Preferred skills

  • Experience with bioinformatics (biological background or worked with healthcare data)
  • Experiment logging tools: Tensorboard, MLFlow or similar
  • Ability to optimize application performance in Python codebase
  • Experience with Docker technology
  • Experience with structural biology (and ML models predicting it, e.g. AlphaFold)
  • Familiar with unit testing (with frameworks like pytest or similar)

What we offer

We offer a full-time job with a competitive salary and other benefits.

You will be working with a dynamic, youthful team of 15 people. We are working in a hybrid setup, you can work remotely up to three days a week, with at least two days a week in our Budapest downtown office.

How to Apply

Please, submit your CV to job@cytocast.com with a short cover letter in the email body.
